You people should accept inflation as something normal, caused by the furlough scheme. The guy tried to help people through the furlough scheme. It is the money printed for that, that caused inflation. So, please first decide, if the furlough scheme was right or not. If furlough was right, then inflation is normal. But if inflation is wrong, then furlough was wrong, and job losses should be considered acceptable. Take your pick.

Doing business with Russia was all fine, a month ago. EU is still buying Russian oil. And overnight, you make him a criminal because of a company that operates in a different sovereign country i.e. India.

Well, the thing is, if you got money during the pandemic, as furlough, then you are gonna lose it now, either through taxes or inflation. The loss of production during pandemic, has to be borne, one way or the other. Without furlough, you would have been poor immediately, but now you become poor over time. That's the gambit. And now, Putin turned off the gas. He played this game, where he destroyed Ukraine, made you sanction him, and then made you suffer in cold. He who holds the gas, holds your life.

@321bytor You can't eat the cake and have it too. Nothing can be made to serve the people. Either people take matters in their hands and serve themselves or govt takes control, and decides for everyone. The former is called free-market and the latter is socialism. Fundamental question, you need to answer is: Was furlough scheme, right or wrong? Just answer that, and then you get the answer whether inflation is acceptable or not. The market operates according to supply and demand. And prices are the signals that you need to understand to know what's really happening in the economy, and make your own choices to serve yourself. Govt intervention, distorts these price signals. The furlough scheme, was a govt intervention, meant to help people in short term, but gave you inflation in long-term. It's as simple as that.

@paulnolan1352 I am only talking of inflation. Frauds need criticism, independent of inflation, but frauds can't be blamed for inflation. If any, frauds would have reduced the delivery of the furlough stimulus, lowering the inflationary effects. At the end of the day, people had cash, but supply chains were disrupted. Production and trade has not recovered. Hence, more money chasing fewer goods.

@billpugh58 It was not your money either. You don't even understand how govt budget works. Printed money is new money. Or call it, debt money. He basically, took debt on your behalf. Ideally, individuals who were affected should have taken their own loans, but he socialized the misery of those whose jobs were lost during pandemic. Now, do you think such a measure is correct or not? That's what you need to think. If you eay yes, you are a lefty, or you are a righty. Do you as a citizen care for your fellow citizens or not? Normally, a left-winger would have done this, but a right-winger went against his ideology, and took a social measure like this, and he is now asking that money back. Do you still think he is against working class?

Investing in Russia, was all legal, a month ago. All businesses worldwide are having offices in Russia. And overnight, you want everyone else to shutdown, including Indian business which fall under another sovereign country.
