More avenues to sell, and improved storage should be created, which is what the reforms were about. The reform were deliberately opposed, to put blame on BJP, as it was forced to do export bans, to protect middle class consumers, while hurting farmers whose votes were lost in Maharashtra.

  30. India needs to implement economic reforms, asap to raise GDP growth rate from 7% (new Hindu rate, as you say), to 10%. The fact that we haven't developed political concensus on these, is also used by China to denounce the idea of democracy, which they blame as the reason for India being left behind. Either political parties need to come together, or voters have to get out of their biases, to encourage the parties they support, to support the reforms. In cases, like these, people and parties have to put national interests over immediate power games, and blame games. I don't know how they will achieve it, but creative politics is needed, whosoever it maybe from.

  33. BJP lost the chance to bring Uniform Civil Code in last 5 years. It could have created a pro-BJP liberal Muslim constituency, with more reforms like triple talaq. But weirdly, they decided, they want to go full on Muslim bashing to consolidate Hindu votes. I don't understand, how it was ever going to work. Now, even Naseeruddin Shah is saying, it is easy to blame Modi, but Muslims need reforms to uplift them.

  35. I was hoping they would rationalize some of the subsidies as per Ashok Gulati recommendation and cut petrol taxes. The existing tax relief is not enough. Ideas like replacing Urea subsidy with cash transfer is important. Promoting nano-urea and PNK fertilizers were other recommendations.

Lithium based technology will again lead to imports. We should use, sodium, aluminium and iron based batteries. Ethanol, biogas and wind have to really kickoff.

While you think, not joining RCEP was a missed opportunity, Prof Ila Pattnaik had explained that, India's poor competitiveness, would have meant, that we would not have been able to take advantage of it. Rather China would have got incentive to make even bigger factories, and gain from even better economies of scale. While Indian manufacturimg would have been decimated even more. We need labour reforms and farm reforms, before we enter RCEP.

Most of the Bangladeshi Hindu refugees, who keep entering India, are Matuas and Rajbongshis, who were considered lower castes, and they are eligible for reservations in India, and were the intended beneficiaries of CAA. Brahmins can never be more than 5% of any Hindu population. Because no society needs 100% priests. And if you check closely, there will be caste similarity between Bangladeshi Muslims and Hindus too. But sectarian attitude, causes religious intolerance towards brethren of same caste.

Thakur, Baniya, Rajput, Khatri are also upper caste. All of them are equally found in unreserved merit list. Many times OBC creamy layer like Jats and Yadav are also there in unreserved merit list. And all of them are now marrying each other also.

And Sikkim has good percentage of Hindu Nepalis, who were discriminated in the past. All that stopped. Whereas, Bhutan expelled Hindus. Yet India went and defend their border, with Indian soldiers.

  49. Jab govt, pichle 3 saal se MSP bada rahi thi, aur rice/wheat procurement bada rahi thi, tab inhe koi problem nahi thi. MSP dene ke liye paise kahan se aate hain? Humhare taxes mein se ! MSP ka bill, aur electricity subsidy ka bill, petrol se milne waale tax se zyaada hai. Govt should stop excess procurement. Isse itna paisa bachega ki, petrol pe tax hataya jaa sakta hai. Tax lagate waqt aur reservations lagate waqt, koi janta se puchta hai, kya? Agar private pe MSP lagta hai, toh Govt procurement band karein.. Hum MSP do baar nhi denge : ek baari tax mein, aur phir bazaar mein khareedte waqt.
