  1. There are many things the govt can do to reduce taxes without hurting fiscal discipline. Rationalise subsidies. Taxing rich farmers. Handing over MSP procurement to state govts so that, a) there is equity in MSP procurement between states, b) some states can implement farm laws. Then govt can also crack down on tax evasion by hiding as farm income.
