  2. And the way to make chicken cheaper is by implementing the farm laws. When farmers grow more maize and soyabean, this will make chicken feed cheaper. Also, India should increase sowing of pulses, because imports make this expensive. This way, the vegetarian alternative will also become cheaper.

  3. Most of the inflation is due to petrol taxes, and most of the petrol taxes, are going into procuring excess rice and wheat from Punjab. If only Punjab diversified away from rice/wheat, and grew pulses, soyabean and maize, then cost of protein in India would come down. Maize is also an important feed for chicken.
