Again this inequality deception. Poverty was far more during British Raj. Just because Ambanis net worth increased, doesn't mean he is cause of anyone who is poor. To his credit, he created jobs. Congress should ask, why they neglected manufacturing sector when they were in power? Why they allowed cheap Chinese imports to flood the market and kill domestic industries? Talk about development being stopped in Karnataka, due to freebies. Talk about nokku kooli culture in Kerala, that hurts businesses, which has caused high unemployment there. Talk about Kerala govt splurging money on pay hikes for govt employees, at the cost of everyone else's taxes.

@iridiumman3087 Please tell me. I am here to answer.

@iridiumman3087 3 lakhs are direct jobs created by Reliance. There are indirect jobs too. Jobs created by contractors who supply to Reliance. Then the spending by all these employees of Relaince and its contractors, creates more spillover jobs. So, if you see the good paying jobs created for the capital employed, it is higher than MSMEs and farmers. And that Ambani wedding also created jobs for event managers, hospitality sector, the factories from whom they bought stuff. It was a mini stimulus.

@iridiumman3087 And those who bemoan low spending on education and healthcare, should question the wastage of subsidies in the farm sector. The money spent on excess procurement of rice and wheat, and electricity subsidies. That could be avoided if crop diversification was done to get good pricea by growing crops that India has to import. They would earn from the market instead of tax money. That saved money could be spent on education and healthcare.

@iridiumman3087 On Kerala, sure. He is in opposition. But did he question the CPM and talk about the high salary and pension budget?

@iridiumman3087 On Kerala, I read this article by economist Joe Sebastian, who explained how, the recent pay commissions gave too much hikes, and the average working days are just 224 days in an year. The pension/salary expense is now 56% of state budget.

@iridiumman3087 While small businesses may hire more, hiring for the sake of it doesn't help. A business will not be competitive in the global arena, without focusing on efficiency. See, technology and process improvements will inevitably reduce jobs and increase company profits. This seems to be an unsolved problem w.r.t jobs and income distribution. Perhaps, we have to think of Universal Basic Income or reduced work hours at same salary as productivity improves, and encouraging diversified investment in stocks of profitable companies, to share the benefits. But creating job for the sake of it, is not a good thing.

@iridiumman3087 And yes. You and me are also indirect job creators. When we order food through Zomato, or hire a barber from Urban Company, then we are saving our time for more productive pursuits, in return for someone else's earning. Thus, both are benefiting. Perhaps, govt can atmost mandate a minimum wage, to prevent exploitation.

@iridiumman3087 I understand corona and inflation were tough. But private sector should be encouraged more. General populace needs to change their attitude.
