Comments by "Raju" (@rajx7120) on "‘How can governments that can’t even manage traffic give economic prosperity?’: Economist Rathin Roy" video.
Hope to see BJP develop a spine and bring back reforms. We can expect Chandrababu Naidu to support them atleast.

Apples to orange comparison. Traffic is problem of municipalties. Economic growth is responsibility of Central and State govts. Cities are congested due to states spending on freebies than city infra. For it's part, the Centre has focused on infra and cut revenue exp thru Agniveer and DBT. Politicians are deliberately overcrowding cities to drive up property prices and earn black money.

Our highways are good. It is the city roads, managed by your local municipality that are bad. Do you even know your mayor's name. Find that out, before blaming Gadkari.

India overproduces rice/wheat and imports pulses. This has led to waste of tax money, while making protein unaffordable. This wastage is the single biggest cause of rural poverty and under nutrition. Crop diversification is needed. But guess what, some farmers oppose this.

Kejriwal has converted Delhi into a big slum. Municipality schools are renovated outside, but teaching quality is poor still. Uncontrolled migration keeps happening.

And he compares city traffic congestion with economy. Former is responsibility of municipalties which are corrupt.

Is it fault of your municipality or the Centre? Do you ever vote in municipal elections? Do you know the mayor's name, or your ward councillor's ?

@KKJain-v1q Corporators are municipal corporators only. That's what I said. Highway comes under MoRTH - central ministry. Metro is State and Centre joint partnership, and they are unrelated to your complaint.

@RAJIVBUL Party being same, doesn't mean policies are same. Usually, non-BJP state, does more freebies.

In India, reforms in farm sector, labour sector and land acquisition is blocked by vested interests. Did Rwanda face any such problems? No. So stop expecting things that you don't want. You don't even know what changes to ask, and how to bring them.

@anjusreemaity6647 Irrespective of small or big country, economy will grow, when various sectors are liberalized. We need reforms. 1991 was half-done. Agriculture and labour have not been liberalized.

@rajatranjith8694 Chins abolished MSP procurement in 1993, and encouraged direct private sales. That increased their rural incomes. But in India, we are asking for legal MSP, that will bankrupt finances.
