Worst finances are of Punjab and Kerala. No industries in both places. Atleast Bimaru states are spending on infrastructure and having high GDP growth rate. Punjab and Kerala are stagnating. One is spending on farmer freebies, and other increasing pensions.

@chakkaravarthisk4917 Same party did Freight Equalization Policy and gave North's resources to South and VAT based sales tax, gave more tax revenue to South producer states than North.

@anujsethi7845 They are starting from a low base, and they have infrastructure deficit. So, they are focusing on that. It shows in the +10% growth rate of UP/Bihar. What is growth rate of Punjab. Nothing to speak of. Improving education without jobs is of no use. Look at the unemployment in Punjab and Haryana. And Punjab is subsidizing agriculture so much, that industries are running away. Educated unemployment is a big issue.

@xxyz2023 UP's contribution in 1991 was 7.1%. Today it has risen to 9%. Don't give vague, half information. It fell during Congress Licence Raj era.
3
@anujsethi7845 Punjab's share of GDP in 1991 was 4.3%. Today, it is 2.4%. UP increased from 7.1% in 1991 to 9% today. So, who is doing better.

@anujsethi7845 Money should be given to those who use it productively. UP/Bihar is doing productive spending in recent times. Not wasting like Punjab on free electricity and water and fertilizer for farmers. Punjab should stop asking MSP hikes and guaranteed procurement. That free money needs to stop. Kerala needs to stop wasting money on salary/pension hikes to lazy govt babus. Implement business friendly policies to create industry jobs. Youth unemployment is highest in Kerala. Blaming UP/Bihar has become a lazy excuse to hide other states' bad policies. I am not from UP/Bihar. I am a tax payer, who likes to keep an account for who is doing what with the money. You are creating diversion by cherry-picked narrative of 70 years, while ignoring the real story of the last 30 years.

Delimitation should be done in Rajya Sabha and in State Assemblies. Lok Sabha can be left out. That will be balanced approach.
3
We can do delimitation in State assemblies and increase Rajya Sabha seats. We can leave out Lok Sabha.

Let's ban cricket and promote kabaddi ! BCCI is a private body. Anyone can apply. Tamilians have also been BCCI presidents.
2
Delimitation should happen in State Assemblies and Rajya Sabha. Lok Sabha can be left out.

@anujsethi7845 I never said they are doing good. I said they are growing faster. There is a difference. Bimaru states are using the money wisely. Unlike Punjab and Kerala. They have better indices because of past benefits. Punjab in particular has always got more Central farm procurement than UP/Bihar. We should correct that. And South States should compensate for the losses caused by Freight Equalization Policy. If these injustice had not happened, then Bimaru would have spent money on social infrastructure.
2
@anujsethi7845 You are the one in denial. UP/Bihar turned a corner in the last 10 years. Punjab and Kerala have deteriorating.

Congress implemented Freight Equalization Policy and looted North India's resources and gave it to South.

GST is totally correct. It is based on consumption as it should rightly be. Earlier, consumer states where paying more taxes than producer states, and it left no money for social expenditure. And due to Freight Equalization Policy, South States became producer states, while North States remained only consumer states. And even within North, farm procurement was done more from Punjab, and UP/Bihar was neglected. All that injustice needs correction.
1
@kumar.193 South got all resources for cheap due to Freight Equalization Policy. All industries shifted to South. And pre-GST, VAT favoured producer states. All this was injustice to North. Whatever is happening now, is a correction of past loot that South did under Congress rule.

@xxyz2023 No. it was 7% in 1991. 13% was in 1960s. I verified on Google. It increased. Freight Equalization Policy and Socialism and Congress/RJD misrule destroyed UP/Bihar. Last 15 years, Bihar saw +10% growth under Nitish. And under Yogi, UP saw the same. Punjab has declined, and keeps getting MSP procurement. and they blackmail through protests.

@anujsethi7845 You are using UP/Bihar as whipping boy as diversion. If you reduced your wasteful spending that would do you much good. Total money spent on Dunki route by Punjabis annually is more than the State budget of Punjab. Free electricity has caused 40% debt. Don't talk about that. Nothing is great in your state. Kerala and Punjab govt employees are not getting any salaries due to debt. White papers have been released in both states, detailing the waste happening. Do some accountability there also. Nobody is questioning you. Crop diversification tak karne mein chonchle hain tumhaare ! Rice growing se kitna damage ho rha hai ! If rice procurement was shifted to water abundant UP, then UP farmers income would increase and poverty would reduce immediately. Then UP would not need extra money. It is cheaper to grow rice in UP too. But Punjab gets unfair benefits. Still you are in debt !
1
@anujsethi7845 Well. You should care about states that are wasting money than those who are using it wisely. Absolute statistics should not be used to hide some ugly details. If someone is doing right, it should be acknowledged. And if someone is doing wrong, that should be criticized. Anything else is a diversion.

Delimitation can be done in Rajya Sabha and State assembly only. Lok Sabha can be left out.

It was Congress and Samajwadi parties who trashed family planning. Especially, for one religion. Only BJP is supporting Uniform Civil Code with ban on polygamy.
