  4.  @tazziiieee  No, British were not interested in any reforms. They were always interested in tax rights and rrade rights. It was the East India Company, not the British Crown even. After Plassey, they acquired tax rights for Awadh, at Battle of Buxar. And they forced Indian farmers to grow cash crops instead of foodgrains, and this led to massive famines in India. So much for "civilizing" !
