  1. The problem in India is, very few politicians actually have an ideology, that they believe in. The individual candidate's positions don't matter. And this has to do with the first-past-the-post system, which favours consolidation. Even people don't follow any ideologies, of their own. They aren't chosing representatives, but a set of local kings to rule over, and grant benefits. Perhaps, we should have an element of proportional representation, to rate candidates, based on who we agree the most with.

  2. I think we should have proportional representation, at the constituency level, where you rate candidates. Then people will pay attention to the positions of each candidate.
