  1. Free ration or free bijli mein fark hota hai. Electricity is a scarce resource, whereas food is not. In fact food is overproduced, but electricity is in shortage. Food only has distribution issues. And it matters who gets the free electricity. If farmers are given free electricity, then they waste it in growing excess rice and depleting water table. On top of that electricity distribution companies don't get paid and go into debt. This further leads to missed payments to thermal power plants, who in turn can't pay for coal. So, much problems happen with electricity. Foodgrains don't have such a problem at all. Farmers should diversify and reduce electricity usage, which can then be given to everyone else. Giving electricity to industry will also help increase manufacturing jobs, which is so much needed in our country.
