  1. It's actually, indirect Shia-Sunni rivalry, and anti-US hostility by Iran. Basically, Shia Ayatollahs want to show themselves to be more concerned leaders of the Muslim world than Saudi Arabia, by showing that they care about Sunni Palestinians. At the same time, Iran wants to threaten a US ally i.e. Israel. But neither of the two objectives are working for them. 😂
