Obviously. And the gap is called economics. It was never feasible. Punjab needs to change its agricultural policy, and stop wasting electricity to pump water for growing rice. Just change the crops, and enable easy land acquisition for industry. Remove all electricity subsidy and female stipend etc, and use the money for healthcare and education, or invest in the same.

@nikhilgarg2870 How do you check, if only poor people are getting free units, when you don't charge bills in the first place? AAP does not any accounting at all. Instead of free units, they could have given direct money transfer to poor people, but charge the bills at market rates. Also they blocked the farm laws, which would have made private sector better and help diversification away from rice. Rice is causing electricity wastage, and driving out industry due to cross-subsidy charges of farm electricity. You can't keep blaming corruption, when basic policies are wrong.
