India needs to implement economic reforms, asap to raise GDP growth rate from 7% (new Hindu rate, as you say), to 10%. The fact that we haven't developed political concensus on these, is also used by China to denounce the idea of democracy, which they blame as the reason for India being left behind. Either political parties need to come together, or voters have to get out of their biases, to encourage the parties they support, to support the reforms. In cases, like these, people and parties have to put national interests over immediate power games, and blame games. I don't know how they will achieve it, but creative politics is needed, whosoever it maybe from.

@JohnAbraham-gh6dz What land? It's no-man's land, which is claimed by both. If losing patrol access is losing land, then China also lost land. The difference is, we didn't ignore it unlike the UPA days.

@pardeeptandon Administrative reforms improve efficiency of govt jobs and reduce the same. Every lazy person, uses this excuse to oppose reforms that actually create growth and jobs. We have been kicking the can down the road, for too long, that the demographic dividend is just going waste.

Railways do have budget. If you look at the figures, the allocation is constantly increasing. And although we had a spurt of accidents and derailments, the casualties have been low. It's a transitory phase. Rt now, a good amount of money is wasted in farm subsidies, where wrong stuff - rice and sugarcane is being grown in excess. All that can be reduced, to give tax cuts

@sankalp6872 Inflation happens, when more money chases fewer goods and services. Agri and labour reforms will create jobs through productivity growth. Different sectors are growing at disparate rates - agriculture at 3.5%, services at above 10, while manufacturing keeps see-sawing. When all the sectors and all the regions start growing equally at 10% in parallel, then you can easily see the desired results. And it will reflect in, less need for freebies by taxing a few. Things are so lopsided, rt now.

@MegaAshfire The term "new Hindu rate of growth" was used by ThePrint's TCA Sharad Raghavan. My take is that, where is it written that Hindu rate of growth should be a slow one. I am fine if we can embrace that, and redefine it as 10+% growth.

@pardeeptandon We don't need any PSUs. All should be privatized. Exposing them to market competition, will make them regorm themselves. And bureacratic reforms are already happening. They only save budget, but don't create jobs. As I said earlier, you can't kick the can down the road on economic reforms. I understand rich landlords with vested interests will linger around to make excuses.

@pardeeptandon Why punish the IAS officer? We want to curtail the powers of the IAS officer, so that he can't put roadblocks in the way of economic activity. And Chinese PSUs?😂😂 China is not a communist country. It has lots of private MSMEs, that are helped by the govt. In India, restrictive labour laws, have given too much power to the babus, to indulge in corruption. After reforms, na rahegi baas, na bajegi baansuri.

@pardeeptandon You never praised when same FIIs put money into India and pulled out of China? Indian stocks have peaked and there is no more growth opportunity left, whereas Chinese market has crashed, and they see growth opportunity there. Reliance on FIIs creates a pump and dump scheme. Good thing is India's retail participation is high, to compensate. All profits stay in India.

@grapeshott As if these neighbours and Canada were such nice and sweet people to begin with. Earlier when India, under UPA, ignored harbouring of terrorists and salami slicing, there was not much noise made. That's the Congi definition of peace. We don't want such type of "good relations". Only Congi losers can accept this.

@sankalp6872 I understand all that. But I don't agree with your inflation fears. Improved production and efficiency in supply-chain and logistics will bring down the prices, to balance the increase in demand.
