NEP allows 3rd language. Question is, do you have the budget for hiring teachers? And will you get jobs with these languages, esp if you have to migrate? As it is school drop out rate is high in Bihar. So, these practical issues should be fixed first. The whole reason, Tamilnadu is able to talk about saving languages is, because there is local industry there, esp manufacturing, which allows people to survive on one language alone. Bihar should focus on manufacturing, law and order and implementing some irrigation to improve agriculture, first.

@BharatThatIsIndia I am not asking you to not support your language. But fixing fundamental issues is important. Otherwise, it won't work.

@NilaKavi-x3k South Indians are not willing to learn a 3rd language, which could be another South Indian language too. And you are talking about a separate United South India? Lol ! 🤣. And we also see, how you fight over Kaveri. Have you ever seen North Indian states, fight over Ganga and Yamuna? USSI is not happening.

@BharatThatIsIndia Only Punjab is fighting, due to Bhakra Nangal waters. But they should not be growing rice in the first place. It is an excuse to oppose crop diversification. And I am actually based out of Bangalore.

@MuthuKumar-gx3dg Who asked you to build a dam on Kaveri, and who asked you to grow so much sugarcane and rice in such low-water rivers? Rice and sugarcane are suited for Ganga/Yamuna, and should be imported from there, whike you conserve your water. You are stealing the income of UP/Bihar farmers and then creating drama. You have money to waste on freebies, and bankrupt the finances, but no money to learn basics of each other's languages.

@MuthuKumar-gx3dg And there are many Telugu, Kannada, Malayali and Saurashtra people in Tamil Nadu. What about them? Don't they deserve to learn their mother tongue too? Should Tamil be only language taught to them? Respect diversity inside Tamil Nadu also.

@BharatThatIsIndia I am not talking about Hindi at all. I was talking about other languages. There are linguistic minorities everywhere.

@BharatThatIsIndia So, you are willing to forget your native language, and adopt Bengali then? 2 languages provides room for everyone. If people of a state say, they are minority compared to Hindi, then someone else is a minority compared to that language. It's all relative. There is enough room to accommodate everyone. Controversy is needless. One could take a basic course in 3rd language while doing advanced course in mother tongue. In fact, in UP/Bihar - Hindi could be made basic, while Maithili, Bhojpuri, Awadhi be made advanced.
