Workers are getting a wage hike indirectly, from all the increasing freebies. You should add value of free electricity, free buses, free cycle, scooters, 10 kg ration, to whatever salary, they are getting. Basically, govt took the money from the factory owners in the form of higher cost of electricity and fuel, due to cross-subsidy, and gave them to their employees. Because obviously, our socialist khatakhat thinking is that, if energy costs were lower for the factory, it wouldn't be passed on as higher wages, or creation of new jobs, that could increase higher wages due to competition for labour.

Which govt has focused on innovation and productivity? When people want khatakhat sitting lazily at home, then what innovation and what productivity are you asking for? Industries suffer from cross-subsidy on electricity due to freebies, and freebies in tuen reduce labour supply. So, what govt are you blaming on ? State govts are far more responsible for the mess !

Written off? Or waived off? Because written-off, means, workers will file for bankruptcy under IBC, and will have to sell their houses to collection agencies, to pay the debt. That's what corporates got in the write-off.

@alileevil Same old drivel. Corporates are not getting any tax break. Business environment is still not great. Whatever happened, happened during UPA era, when loans were evergreened, as UPA's cronies siphoned off the money. Inequality is not an issue, as long as there is no poverty. Poverty has reduced a lot. When a poor person earning ₹100 sees his income rise by a 100% and an industrialist with an income of ₹1 lakh, sees his income rise by 10%, then inequality also increases by 10% but poverty reduces a lot more. Wages can't be increased, if you hurt businesses by treating them as criminal. They increase naturally, when jobs are created.

@alileevil Most of what you wrote, is fake news or half news put of context. Adani is not supplying coal to major power plants. He is supplying to only those owned by him. Govt owned power plants get coal from Coal India, whose domestic production is at record highs. And no forests have not been handed over to mining companies at all. Chinese imports are high, in the category of advanced machinery. Medium value imports are reducing. Critical arras like Pharma API are becoming self-sufficient. And poverty also reduced in North India during Modi era, due to Direct Benefit transfers. In South India, it was already low before Modi era. Manufacturing is affected by tough labour laws, and high cost of electricity. How can you pay high wages, if money is lost in paying for energy and bribes to local babus? Punjab is the most de-industrialised state because free electricity to farners is butdened on industry.

@vimalprince4467 They can't be permanent. When economy goes through a downturn, how can factory owner afford to pay wages? It's not feasible. Wages and jobs increase, when economy booms, and they fall when economy goes through downturn. People have to save and invest, to get by bad times. Atmost, govt can give some unemployment allowance.
