Unless, we implement farm laws and labour laws, to help private sector expand in these areas, we should not complain about job creation. People vote for free money sitting at home. When they are not interested in earning money, then how will they get jobs. Cost of free electricity is borne by industry, which are left with less money to hire people. So, it creates a vicious cycle. Freebies -> hurt industry -> less jobs -> people ask more freebies. If you tax the corporates even more -> then again less jobs -> and people ask more freebies. Until the golden goose dies and we all are left with nothing.

@Apache1970 Because our manufacturing is not competitive. Cheap Chinese imports are affecting demand. Export demand is down due to global factors. And factories pay high cost of electricity to subsidize freebie for households.

@Editsdevil Which media is reporting it? Can you point me? I haven't heard anything yet.

The biggest tax evasion happening is of - showing business income as agricultural income. We should plug that loop hole, by taxing high agricultural income.

@anujsethi7845 If this govt resigns, do we have better alternatives? Congress is still socialist. The opposition is not interested in reforms. They only think about distributing one lakh rupee cash, and even wealth tax and inheritance tax. This is like Indira Gandhi's 97% tax. All that will not create any jobs. But kill the golden goose. And when this govt brings reforms, you only oppose this for random reasons. We urgently need farm laws, to reduce subsidy burden. Only then petrol tax can be cut. We need to implement labour reforms, to help manufacturing expand. But you are only opposing and crying.

@bhaskarandlapalli1729 Write-off is not waive-off. Stop continuing the lie. Bad loans were given by UPA, and they kept evergreening them, while UPA cronies ran away with the money. Modi govt gave money to banks, to save them. Not to businesses.

@anujsethi7845 Inequality doesn't mean, one group is looting another. Inequality means, one group is earning more than another. Solution is to make other group earn more. Not to label the first group as evil and steal from them. Farm reforms and labour reforms are the only way to create jobs and improve incomes of people at bottom of the pyramid.

And UPSC aspirants know how to setup factories, from tax money, rt? Labour is cheap because labour is in plenty. And many of the sectors have not been reformed to absorb labour, which could create competition and automatically raise wages. Billionaires are not the problem. Restrictions on businesses, from investing in more sectors is.

@merebaap8370 BJP did freebies only recently. It is wrong to say, only freebies are keeping BJP in power. People want everything for free, and Congress is feeding them false promises of entitlement. BJP was forced to do it. Otherwise, BJP was focusing on infrastructure and reforms, which cause more lasting growth, by raising incomes of poor.

@praveend6839 I agree. But corruption is not easy to remove quickly. But I think this caste mess can be solved. It's overdue.

Actually, we need labour reforms, to remove bureacratic restrictions on businesses, to help them grow and achieve economies of scale. That should precede, total liberalization. Otherwise, we would get annihilated by foreign imports.
