Well, people voted for "secularism", when terror attacks happened and inflation was at 10%, and infrastructure was not getting built.

I wish they did the same for gold. Like if the govt hoarded as much gold as possible, and control gold prices by trading. Then perhaps, they could earn money from this, and fund the govt expenses. Indian people need to be disincentivized from buying gold. Or atleast, the profit of the expense be caught by the govt, than foreign sellers.

@deepkadamba7083 Cars are manufactured goods. Gold has no real utility.

@RUSSELRAJ-o9t Depends on how the taxes are used. Spending on infrastructure has a GDP multiplier of 3 over multiple years. Spending that on freebies has a multiplier of 1 i.e. it gives short-term relief and doesn't add to GDP. Ask for reduction of various freebies and various subsidies that are given to farmers, who don't pay any tax. That is where the real problem is.

@IdoCareForPeople Not since, this govt came. Only after pandemic in 2020, it has er .. "exploded". And now, it is coming down.
