  1. People don't realise how much he changed things behind the scenes. He is a sports scientist and the analysis and backroom staff he brought in was second to none. Liverpool was stuck in the past. He is a much bigger loss than any player. No other manager could have done what be did. Most just take easy jobs at rich clubs who had won a lot of recent titles.

  67. No Liverpool fan with a brain thinks we're favourites. Arsenal for me have been the best team this season, the only team to beat their two big rivals. Liverpool have brutal away games at grounds they rarely win at left. Had Jota been back for MU I'd have felt more confident about that one, but can't see us getting anywhere near 15 points from MU, Everton, Fulham, Villa and West Ham away. Spurs at home will be tough too. Coming 2nd or 3rd would still be a massive overachievement given our issues this season. 4/5 of our defence missing for most of the year. It would take Saliba or Rodri being injured to convince me otherwise. Unlike Klopp the other two managers aren't as good when they lose key players.

Trent is often at least a yard off where he should be which if you support Liverpool you will have seen time and again. I sit near the front at Anfield and Gini or Henderson would always be shouted at to help Trent who never tracked back in time. Everton breached rules that were set in stone and they're fortunate it has taken until now to hit them, had it been last season they'd have been relegated. The paused and slo mo footage of the Jones challenge, both Jota yellows now proved to be mistakes (Spurs player tripped himself up and an independent panel deemed the other not a yellow) some other dubious bookings for Liverpool, and what did the linesman see that made him raise his flag? Because he can't have seen Diaz offside. Also why when I go to games does the linesman not flag until after play had stopped but in this case he flagged right away?? If they can go back a few mins for a penalty VAR check surely to God they can do it for a goal? We also had Mac Allister wrongly sent off earlier in the season and the Van Dijk extra game ban for using a swear word which I have never seen before and I am certain we will never see again. This is all because Klopp called out Tierney last season. And Klopp was 100% right about him. He is corrupt. The rest are just useless.

We've won twice in 12 years away at Everton, never win at Fulham, and I think it's only 3 wins in 12 at MU. We also have Villa and West Ham away. Imagine if Kelleher or Van Dijk got injured too? We'd be cooked. Jota not being back for MU is a massive blow. Darwin was poor yesterday. We will get called bottlers if we don't win it but we have more bottle than anyone even if we do finish 3rd. We were 8th at this point last season, and lost 9 players this summer, then all the injuries. Incredible by Klopp no matter what.

Klopp had huge input in getting Anfield modernised once the new stand went in, he had huge input in the teams behind the scenes, he brought in sleep specialists, dieticians, he even brought in scientists to the analysis teams. He suggested club sponsors, he changed how the players left the ground so they could get home quicker. Seriously this guy told us Klopp left everyone at the club speechless because he was so meticulous. He wanted out of Melwood because it was stuck in the past.

Souness even said he looked like he was on his way out. Then we got a couple of decent seasons out of him, but he said himself we would have won everything without him because he was surrounded by world class players. He couldn't head, tackle, take any sort of set piece, and he ran off when there was a penalty shoot out even though teenagers had the bottle to step up. And Fabinho was the proper DM and even he outscored him, centre backs outscored him. I bet you believe that guff about him not leaving for the money too eh fan boy?😄 And after the snide dig he made about JK after he left proper fans no longer want anything to do with him. They have been lucky with injuries certainly compared to Liverpool, but they are the only team in the top 3 to have beaten the two others. Liverpool having the easiest run-in is a total myth. MU, Villa, Fulham, Everton and West Ham away, three of those grounds we rarely win at. If Arsenal don't lose to Spurs they will likely win it I think. Szoboszlai being off form against Luton and Toulouse shows we struggle if he isn't right. I would be stunned if Arsenal aren't 2nd or neck and neck with MC. I would take 4th as a Liverpool fan. He also did something have never witnessed before or since in 2020? he blew up for half time when Liverpool were through on goal v Man U before 45 mins were up WTF?? Pickford not getting a card for what he did to Van Dijk, the Brighton keeper not getting sent off for an assault on Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo with stud marks and blood pouring down his chest and Mings doesn't get a red last season. The 3-2 defeat to Arsenal last season when VAR again failed to see their 3rd was offside and the ref apologised to Klopp after the game for awarding a pen which wasn't one. This season Mac Allister sent off in error, Van Dijk getting an extra game ban, now 3 terrible decisions at Spurs. When Liverpool have been given decisions it's usually been as a direct result of bad ones going against them earlier like the foul on Diaz last season (Tierney again surprise surprise) who then let Jota off with a high foot, or Jota getting a pen away at CP a week or two after not getting the one at Spurs. Other teams have suffered which seems to be down to incompetence, but I do wonder whether there is a hatred of Liverpool and/or Klopp amongst officials. Howard Webb had always been corrupt.

No one doubts he's talented and in a less intense league I hope he does well but his injury record was appalling. In the end Klopp just gave up on him. He was getting in ahead of Henderson at first but he just couldn't stay fit. In his first 2.5 seasons he only played for 90 mins 11 times. Konate is another who struggles to put a run of games together. Salah is never injured but is said to train the hardest. He just couldn't cope with our league, doesn't make him a bad player.

I think most rival fans know we will be top 4 now, you could understand them thinking otherwise when Klopp went. I always expected top 3 no matter who the manager was because it's a good squad. I mean last season it was VAR which cost us with no pens given at home against MC and Arsenal and that farcical game at Spurs. Jota being out is big for us though, we knocked Arsenal out of the FA cup last season with 13 players injured but Jota was the difference. That's why I think it might be a draw today which I think would be a good result.

  530.  @Youstillcracked  I don't agree we've barely looked like conceding. We had tight offside decisions go our way in 2 or 3 games and Kelleher and Konate saved our arses at Leipzig a few times. Bournemouth had 6 shots on target at Anfield and Chelsea could and probably should have equalised in injury time last week. MU away was far and away our best performance. We do look vulnerable on transition at times. We got more points under Klopp in these fixtures last season (obviously not including Ipswich) so I am not getting carried away.

They were without both CB's by the end who have been outstanding, they badly miss Odegaard and Saka had been out and couldn't last the 90. That's without mentioning the others they had out or lost during the game. We just weren't very good first half and despite improving in the second couldn't get the win. They throw themselves to the ground and use dark arts everyone knows that, but I thought they were the better team overall and we were slightly lucky they didn't snatch it at the death.

There is talk Doak might be sold which would be stupid. The CL has more games this season as well and the likes of Alisson, Jota and Konate always pick up bad injuries. Gomez might go and Trent Mo and Virgil are coming to the end of their current deals.

  787.  @robertesellers  He had one bad season, same as many others last season. Van Dijk was awful last season, besides Stefan Bajčetić, the whole midfield was poor. Would you sell VIrgil too based on one bad season? Fab is younger too. If he is poor this season then maybe Klopp might look at the situation again. Saying that he might decide he wants to go. I really don't think losing Ox, Keita, Milner, Hendo, Fab and possibly Thiago all at once would be right though, of that group Fab would be the one I would keep.

  788.  @robertesellers  Yes we definitely need a CB. Fab is going anyway but I would have definitely got rid of Thiago and Henderson first. Fab was outstanding at his best, Alan Hansen had no pace nor did Hypia but they were still two of our best players.

  790. He's stupid for falling for Neville's clear wind up tactics. The atmosphere at the MU game was fine, especially early on, Neville was that relieved it wasn't another pasting he got mouthy and Klopp fell for it. The atmosphere was great last night, especially given West Ham gave up, he only slagged off some fella sat behind him who moaned all game. He did his fist pumps and applauded the other stands. All those who mock the atmosphere might want to explain how we lost 6 home league games in a row the year there were no fans, compared to ONE defeat in the league in 6 years with fans. Loud or not teams don't like coming here (and yes I know we face Arsenal next, but at least until now!)

He's questioned whether being in the CL would be the right thing which is bizarre 🤯, then he seemed to be questioning himself last week, then he's saying they need to overhaul the squad next season. That's not exactly inspiring the players.

Liverpool need to be near perfect now to stand any chance. A draw would be OK especially after the recent hammerings we've taken.

The Premier League won't want to lose MC or Chelsea, although Chelsea could get relegated purely for bring cr*p anyway😂, both clubs attract a lot of interest from other countries and have a huge amount of social media followers, and are part of the 'big 6'. Everton and Forest attract little interest and wouldn't be missed as far as the premier league are concerned. His fall out with Klopp has meant Lijnders isn't being considered who the players are meant to want and who should have been given a chance. Also means if the next manager fails, and I think they will fail, it's unlikely Klopp could be tempted back. I feel really sorry for who comes in next, he will have his work cut out winning us over.

JK didn't play him in 18/19 in a lot of the big games, he bust a gut in that Barcelona 4- 0 game because he was dropped for the away leg. He was good in the title winning year and had spells in 21/22 but he was poor last season which seemed to have a knock on effect on those around him. We just need someone who has more about him, he isn't a game changer, he can't do set pieces, he doesn't really score and rarely assists, he can't do box to box, he isn't like James Milner who could go and play left back for a season. He was flagging last season by the 60 mins mark and JK was signalling to Jones or whoever to replace him. I don't think JK fancied him from day one which is why Keita was brought in, Keita started getting picked ahead of him in European away games and other big games but his injury issues obviously affected things. I think he knows now Szoboszlai and Mac Allister are ahead of him and even Bajčetić, I hope he is sold so we can go out and buy a DM. No getting away from it, the midfield needed an almost total clear out, I wouldn't be sorry to see Thiago go either.
