People don't realise how much he changed things behind the scenes. He is a sports scientist and the analysis and backroom staff he brought in was second to none. Liverpool was stuck in the past. He is a much bigger loss than any player. No other manager could have done what be did. Most just take easy jobs at rich clubs who had won a lot of recent titles.

@jiggaflo1 They won't. Van Dijk has already said it was Klopp that made him come here. We don't pay high wages, Mac Allister also said it was the manager who made him want to come here as he got offered more to go elsewhere. You will see the difference now.

I disagree. Nobody out there is in his class and if I was a player I would think twice about signing for Liverpool without him.

@crypticalibi No we were stuck in the past and I can tell you that with 100% certainty because the liason guy at the club told fans outside the team hotel a few years ago. He said Klopp came in and was horrified at how far behind we were on every level. Commercially, behind the scenes, and even in terms of the ground, changing rooms, players tunnel and training ground. Klopp had huge input in getting Anfield modernised once the new stand went in, he had huge input in the teams behind the scenes, he brought in sleep specialists, dieticians, he even brought in scientists to the analysis teams. He suggested club sponsors, he changed how the players left the ground so they could get home quicker. Seriously this guy told us Klopp left everyone at the club speechless because he was so meticulous. He wanted out of Melwood because it was stuck in the past.

@AR-yh6sj He had hardly any help from FSG. He had to sell his best players to get any decent ones in. Villa have a higher net spend as do about 8 other clubs since he's been in.

@666gunvald Nobody is bigger than a club but that doesn't mean him leaving isn't a really bad thing. We won't be as good and we won't attract players as easily as we did. There are maybe 4 elite managers in world football and he is one of them.

@ZiloBalo I have been fortunate enough to meet him as I live here and go to the games and I can tell you he is a genuine, warm and caring man. I told him something a bit sad and he grabbed my arm and started pulling silly faces into my phone camera to cheer me up! There were no TV cameras only my phone one and I still have the silly faces he pulled to try to cheer me up saved, it was cold, it was late and his wife was waiting in their black opel car smiling over. All done because he's kind. Am happy to hear you are raising your kids with a big heart like his. YNWA

@glenndowling8383 There's rumours Lijnders had a fall out with someone there but I hope that isn't true. The more time goes by the more I smell a rat over this Klopp exit. Someone running low on energy levels doing adverts for exercise bikes? Him telling LFC tv, he was "on fire" and couldn't wait for the new season, 12 weeks before he wants out? Lijnders going without being offered the managers job? Something isn't right.
