  1. People aren't interested in going the pub or cinema these days. It's easier and cheaper to stay at home and have a drink and download a movie or watch Netflix. Plus I don't think people like socialising as much, people want to come home from work and lock the rest of the world out. Maybe different in the summer if there's a decent beer garden and people don't have a garden.
