Debtors prison is illegal(source below), hence why debt collectors can only call/mail you. Don't pay a ticket... Goes to a debt collector. They can not legally jail you unless you evade paying taxes by cheating how much you owe. If you never pay all they can do is add interest, which wont matter since you will never pay.
