Let me explain somthing, in the early 1990s the problems both the US and the Soviets had we're failed proxy wars with huge costs involved damaging their economies (US need to compete with Soviet allies at that time as well), words could come out about the many scandals and combined with people's distrust for the government and the spirit for the system died down over the course of decades and enemy propaganda there could been separatist and nationalist movements for both superpowers but it wouldn't be necessarily a good thing in the long run it would result in collapes of economies on both former superpowers, chaos. Im just saying what happened to the USSR in the early 90s nearly happened to the USA at the same time Note: any government or system, no matter how corrupt, things get much worse for the people if a government collapes its dangerous for any country

Krushchev screwed up the economy with his failed land projects and political revisionism wich didn't do Russia any favors. Deng managed to keep Communist government in power in China because his reforms were gradual he slowly shifted the Chinese economy to a Capitalistic one and not allowing free speech, Beria could have done it in Russia if he slowly shifted the Russian economy to a Capitalistic one and not allow free speech then the USSR like the PRC could have survived. But Russia would be another China today and be part of the global market and still be a superpower like America but modern problems with Russia today would be the same just political issues.

Not to mention it'd be part of the world market making up a huge portion of it rivaling the US. Russia would be a monster America having a rival. They'd trade. The problems we have with Russia today would be similar, They'd still attack ISIS, They'd still compete with America and China, Russia would be a powerful world player expanding infrastructure, making new trade routes, They'd go into the Arctic circle for recources, minerals oil and fishing.
