@mattnaka6437 eccept 27,000,000 out of 180,000,000 Russians died 13% of the population but there was still 87% of them left over 153,000,000 still plenty of people to have kids they could easily recover from that had Stalin lived longer Russia would fully recover from ww2 and much emphasis on the civilian economy and infrastructure and Marshall plan Stalin plan to do rebuild eastern Europe and Russia repairing destroyed infrastructure so in the 1950s and 60s if Stalin lived longer Russia could have a massive population and economic boom like America their birthrate would be high combined with modern medicine Russias population would skyrocket by the 1990s Russias population could be around 300,000,000 more than twice the population and by the present day 360,000,000 more than Americas.

Nova Flares well America already technically and economicly had a head start over Russia, living standards in Russia were lower than in America is because Russia focused on its military too much military spending at up its economy wich could've been used to focus on civilian economy and Stalins Marshall plan if he lived longer or if Malenkov or Beria succeeded him and not Krushchev, meanwhile America demiliterized, cut military spending and focused on their civilian economy, wich is exactly what Russia could've done they'd be in much better shape and stand a better chance against America, but unfortunately for Russia, Krushchev and Brezhnev bankrupted the Russian economy tho there were other things such as war in Afghanistan, Gorbachevs freedom of speech and attempt to democractize the government wich the Russian people were not ready for that i mean until the Russian Federation, Russia didn't know Democracy except for a brief time in 1917 provisional government, Yeltson was corrupt, the Russian Federation nearly collapsed in 1993 after 2 years of existence. Russian leaders made poor decisions wich is why the country and its people suffered the consequences, it was Krushchev and Brezhnevs fault for economic stagnation, Gorbachevs for the Soviet Union collapsing and Yeltsons for economic issues in Russia in the 1990s, if it wasn't for Putin (and yes i won't lie he's corrupt to) but Russia would still be how it was in 1990s underdeveloped, economicly and politicaly unstable and poor.

@പരുന്ത് still dominated by the Russians so Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Ukrainians, Armenians, Latvians, Lithuanians and such are nothing but just natives of Russian land both the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union same with Siberia wich also has ethnic groups such as Yakuts, Chuchki and such same with China like the Tibetans, Manchurians, East Turkestan people, Mongolians and such ethnic groups dont always get representation or recognition only the predominant ones such as Han Chinese, Moskow Russians
1
-
1
-
@പരുന്ത് true but my point is Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukrain, Siberia, Azerbaijan, Belarussia (modern day Belarus), Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia are all Russian land and theve always been.

@weirdshibainu Gorbachev was the straw that broke the camels back by his freedom of speech, economic restructuring, democratization, Gang of 8 coup wich destabilized the government, war in Afghanistan, just imagine if Nicaragua became another Vietnam for America in the 1980s, the United States would collapse in 1991 along with the Soviet Union, the British Empire and the People's Republic of China fill the power vacuum 1990s, 2000s 2010s, 2020s, 2030s and onward.

@weirdshibainu such as Brezhnevs military spending, having to maintain control over Eastern Europe, Krushchevs failed economic reforms and land projects, Russian Japanese War, 1905 Russian Revolution, WW1, WW2, the Cold War 3 foreign wars, both 1917 Russian Revolutions, Russian Civil War, economy and country was destroyed in all those wars and Revolution, Stalins 5 year plan industrialization, forced collectiviation tho the country was still bad under the Emporor cuz it was already poor and backward so wouldn't matter if the Whites won, the Communists won, the Emporor stays in power, the emphasis of the military industry sacrifice everything else old Tzarist society, intellectuals and artists (tho they didn't get to do under the Tzsr anyway), destabilized the government one thing caused the fall of the Russian Empire, of the USSR, Yeltsins corrupt rule 1990s, the 1993 Russian Constitutional crisis almost caused the fall of the Russian Federation, Russia has been through alot as a country in the entire 20 century, and other things to

@jasonb4566 wasn't like that in the Cold War, the Russian Federation military today is incompetent, poorly trained, equipped and commanded, the Soviet Unions military was well equipped, trained, organized, commanded, disciplined like the United States military, just look at the Chechen Wars, Chechen Rebels fought better performed better because they're ex Soviet soldiers the Russian soldiers performed terribly alot of Russian soldiers died in the war in Chechnya, imagine if the Chechen Rebels fought the US.
A fight with Russia wasn't like bullying Serbia during the Cold War.

@11conormcloughlin maybe if the Nazis focused most of their forces for the Caucasus then Stalingrad after the Caucasus was taken the Soviets very likely would economicly collapes cuz their economy wasn't natrual and stable thanks to Stalins economic policies and destroyed the existing society from the Tzarist era and tried to build a new one from scratch combined with millions of people being killed such as the Kulaks (and other farmers), intellectuals, high level military officers and other tented and hard working people in Russia, destroyed crops and agricultural areas ect, not Communism itself no, the Russian civil war and WW1 mightve devestated the country but Stalins policies is what really destroyed Russia and its society ect, so Stalin and the other Soviet leaders after him are to blame for Russias birthrate collaping wich before his reign used to be high around 7 children per woman and a potentially booming economy, good quality stuff, potential for advanced technology ect about pre-Stalinist Russia but Stalin and those Soviet leaders after his death destroyed this promising Russia, before Stalin, Russia even during Lenin reign had great promise, then Russia was a huge China, unlike today thanks to Stalins and other leaders after hims decisions
