@y0k0z00na Yep, its also a strategic decision. Why pump your own oil when you can get someone else to pump theirs for less emptying their reserve. Then in times of war you have your largely untapped reserves to fall back on. The US does the same with rare earth minerals. It would take around 6 months for the US to spool up its rare earth operations if there was a strategic threat. They also keep around 6 months in reserve. Even with all that the US still pumps almost twice as much as the number two Saudi's.
