  2.  @cushiterevenge5696  Imagine if the US invaded Mexico then after a year and a half of brutal trench warfare that never ends the US only controlled 20% of Mexico, and was losing ground every day. Would you consider that a successful invasion? On top of that most of what Russia controls they had in 2014 or from the initial shock of the 2022 invasion. Since lines have stabilized Ukraine has taken much more ground then Russia has.
