@yaqob3275 Russia still cant capture Bakhmut after 9+ months and tens of thousands of casualties. Its a mid sized town a few hours drive from Moscow. Maybe Kadryovs men will be well rested enough to take it from their time in the rear making tik toks.

How about Russia retreating from Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Kherson. Or the fact that 14+ months in Russia still can't take the Donbas despite it being a few hours by car from Moscow, hell they still cant even take Bakhmut after tens of thousands of casualties, a mid sized town a few miles from the border. Or Russia unironically using T54's an Scooby Doo vans.

You can believe whatever makes you feel fuzziest inside. I already provided the wiki info, if you don't like it I guess that's your problem. The official position of the Russian MOD on the Moskva is STILL that it sank in stormy seas after a fire caused munitions to explode. @Loreless The UK and Germany are at war? Wow I never knew that. Or are you refering to WW2 when there was no tunnel and no way to drive to Germany. Moreover Germany had a much more powerful army then the UK. And Germany was the ones doing the invading. Typically when you invade a country you dont want to engage in trench warfare that never ends a few miles into the country like Russia is right now. The two situations are in no way comparable. What point are you trying to make exactly?

@yaqob3275 NATO being involved in this war is such a strange fantasy. Is Russia being overwhelmed by air power and cruise missiles? The war would be long over if they were involved. Even if they were involved (they aren't) it looks like this. NATO casualties: 0 Russian casualties: 200k+ Also you need to work on your English, it can by very difficult to parse out what you are trying to say.

@remogatron1010 No, at first they abstained from voting, but a few days ago they voted to condemn them along with some other countries that abstained, mainly China and Brazil. Now Russia is big sad.

@yaqob3275 NATO involvement is the most bizarre fantasy Russians have. Refer to Desert Storm if you need to be reminded what a war with NATO countries look like. Forget NATO even one of the middle Euro powers like France or Poland would fold Russia up like laundry. Do you really think trench warfare that never ends was part of Putin's plan? Let me guess you think that Russia retreating from Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Kherson was just Russia consolidating its frontline? And getting their flagship sunk by a country with no navy was just consolidating their sub fleet. And there is this thing called weather Unless Ukraine wants to attack down the middle of the road into the same minefield over and over like Russia did for their humiliating offensive at Vulhedar they need to wait for things to dry out.

@worldpiece2023 From wiki. While the shelling of Bakhmut began in May 2022, the main assault towards the city started on 1 August after Russian forces advanced from the Popasna. You can live in whatever fantasy world you want, let me guess you still think Moskva sank because of a smoking incident.

@Loreless The point is that Ukraine is right next to Russia, the self proclaimed world #2 army. And they cant even manage to take the Donbas, which is completely humiliating for them. The US (an actual superpower) took Iraq in just over 500 hours. And its on the other side of the world, do you think its easier to invade a country on the other side of the world or one right next door? Imagine if the US invaded Mexico then 40 miles and 14+ months in they got bogged down and started digging trenches and resurrected the M26 Pershing. And tried to pretend things were going well. That's what Russia is doing. Do you understand?

@yaqob3275 the US took Iraq in about 500 hours and Afghanistan about the same. There hadn't been an attack on coalition forces in Afghanistan for years. Or do you think an insurgency means the same as war. By that metric Russia hasn't captured any territory as they also face an insurgency that will never end.
