Do you think Russia predicted years of WW1 style attrition warfare?

@Faiez-rh1gm You understand Russia just makes up its economic numbers right? Russian hydrocarbon revenue has dropped 90% since the start of the war. Russia stopped exporting refined products because of price hikes and shortages in Russia and Russian natural gas extraction is at its lowest point since the 70's. The Ruble is in the toilet and Russia is going through one of the worst demographic collapses in human history. But sure, the economy is booming. Just ask them.

Russian generals Popov and Selivyorstov were both fired for claiming they were taking massive casualties and not rotating their troops.

@azeritto100 In Afghanistan there were around 46319 civilian casualties caused by the coalition over 20 years. Though only an estimated 1,010-1,297 Afghan civilians were directly killed by U.S./NATO actions. In 10 years Russia killed around 2 million civilians in Afghanistan. Russia does not give af about civilian casualties they never have. They helped Assad flatten Aleppo and drop chemical weapons on his own people.

@aarondelacruz6842 No they didn't. Go read the Budapest memorandum and tell me where it says that.

@aarondelacruz6842 Prior to Russia's invasion only around 10% of Ukrainians wanted to join NATO. they were neutral and Russia invaded anyways. Furthermore countries change their constitution all the time, Ukraine is a sovereign state recognized by every country on earth, including Russia. If they wanted to change their neutral status (they didn't but they could have) that's their else business, Russia gets no say in that. There was never any promise about NATO expansion even Gorbachev said as much, thats just another of Putin's fantasies. Even if there had been a promise Ukraine wasn't going to join NATO. NATO is just a red herring though, Finland joined NATO and Russia did nothing, they know NATO isn't going to attack them. This is just a regular old land grab.

Russia is in a worse strategic position then it was a year ago. How much of an advantage does Russia need before it manages to take the Donbas?

@azeritto100 Your unhinged fantasies have no basis in reality. Russia has destroyed multiple cities and killed tens of thousands of civilians. They don't grant access to to occupied regions actual civilian casualties are likely 6 figures. How are they going to achieve a strategic victory over the US and UK when they aren't even combatants. Russia has lost half its army and cant even take the Donbas. What insane delusions. If you didn't notice it was Russia that invaded, they are the ones starting this conflict no matter what types of mental gymnastics you try.

@aarondelacruz6842 You also seem confused about what the Budapest memorandum says, please point out where it says Russia can use force for self defense. Respect the signatory's independence and sovereignty in the existing borders (in accordance with the principles of the CSCE Final Act). Refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of the signatories to the memorandum, and undertake that none of their weapons will ever be used against these countries, except in cases of self-defense or otherwise in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations. Refrain from economic coercion designed to subordinate to their own interest the exercise by Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan of the rights inherent in its sovereignty and thus to secure advantages of any kind. Seek immediate Security Council action to provide assistance to the signatory if they "should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used". Not to use nuclear weapons against any non - nuclear-weapon state party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, except in the case of an attack on themselves, their territories or dependent territories, their armed forces, or their allies, by such a state in association or alliance with a nuclear weapon state. Consult with one another if questions arise regarding those commitments.

@aarondelacruz6842 Ukraine is a sovereign state recognized by every country on earth including Russia. Cope however you want though.

@aarondelacruz6842 "Russia said." lmao, Russia also said Ukraine was using bio engineered mosquitos and tried to pass farm equipment off as leopards. Was the west the Soviets master when they were getting the lend lease?

@magmegmigmogmug1476 Russia has lost half its army and cant even take the Donbas. Its time to face reality.
2
@magmegmigmogmug1476 Just like Russia's 3 day SMO has been underwhelming? A source for what? we were talking about the Budapest memorandum its all public information. Or do you mean for the statement about Russia not even being able to take the Donbas? They cant take the Donbas the source is any map on earth. And there are these things called cameras, there is photographic evidenc of Russia losing around 15k armored vehicles.

@corpocorrupt yeah nothing says successful invasion quite like WW1 style attrition warfare that never ends. Time to rejoin reality. Tell me more of the Russian generals genius. Russian hydrocarbon revenue has collapsed by over 90% since the start of the war. They've banned the export of refined products due to shortages and price spikes in Russia and natural gas extraction reached the lowest level since the 70's. The Ruble is collapsing and Russian demographics are at a nation ending level. But i'm sure the economy is booming. I have bridge you might be interested in buynig, its the Kerch bridge get it while it lasts.

@magmegmigmogmug1476 Oryx uses photographic evidence. that's the source. Let me guess photographic evidence isn't good enough for you? Putin himself said in 2014 he could take all of Ukraine in 2 weeks. the 3 days narrative was also all over Russian state media. And in autocracies like Russia the state media doesn't say anything approved by the Kremlin. Or do you think years of WW1 style attrition warfare with terrible losses a few miles across the border was the plan? You also realize Russia has an offensive in progress in the east right? You just dont hear much about it because they've been getting absolutely dumped on. Russia occupied land either before the full scale invasion in 2022 or in the initial shock of the invasion. Since lines have stabilized Russia has lost over half of the land they once occupied, and they lose more ever day.

@magmegmigmogmug1476 The US alrleady passed lend lease. Biden can send anything he wants without anyones approval.

@esfirkolesnitchenko2651 No from Gazprom's own releases. The state of the Ruble and Russia's demographic troubles aren't top secret either, its public information.
