@tayclift5322 Zoom the map out, marginal gains in exchange for terrible losses aren't the victory Russia's online cheerleaders pretend it is. In the past 6 months Russia has gained roughly 250 square kilometers. To put this in perspective during Ukraine's "failed" offensive they took 297.7 square kilometers.

@kawagonzo6951 Meanwhile in reality what actually happened was Russia embargoed Ukraine after Yanukovich tried to sign the EU association agreement, violating the Budapest memorandum. When he reversed course 100% of Ukraine's parliament voted him out, including his own party. And when he refused to hold elections the predictable protests started. It was the same government in power after the protests. Which would be the fist successful "coup" in human history that ended with the same government it started with, nobody told Yanukovich to flee the country he did that on his own accord.

@epants8507 Oil refineries and fuel depots are valid military targets. There was no path for Ukraine to join NATO. Only around 10% of the population wanted to join, Ukraine's government was unwilling and unable to go through the necessary reforms. And Several members of the alliance were opposed to them joining, their chances of joining NATO was effectively zero. It's Ukraine that's defending themselves, Russia is the aggressor here.

No Azov was seen warning civilians that Russia was shelling the evacuation routes. Russian forces were bombarding the area of Mariupol where some of the 200,000 people gathering to try and flee the city. Many of the roads had also been mined

@djape1977 France surrendered and had to be rescued by outsiders, what an idiotic comment. Another example would be Stalingrad, which was flattened but helped break the back of the German army.

Putin's face at that parade looked like someone just guessed his weight at a carnival.

So every time a country is invaded they should surrender to save lives? Welcome to the world of 0 IQ reasoning. Should the Soviets have surrendered to Germany to save lives? Were we wrong to send them aid to fight the fascist invaders?
