BC is already home of the clear cut. Part of the problem is how active we've been in fighting fires for the past 100 years. We should be letting the forest burn or fuel builds up and you get gigantic firestorms and all fire-fighting resources should be moved into communities. Climate change does also play a role but failed policy does not help.

The Amazon was being cleared for farmland. The Northen boreal is 1000km from anywhere and burns mostly due to lightning.

Burning land to clear it for crops and fires started in the hinterlands by lightning aren't the same thing.

@imagrillsubtome7747 Brazil isn't sanctioned though, a few twitter weirdo's protesting mean nothing. This also isn't one fire, slash and burn has been going on for decades in the amazon. In the last fifty years, Brazil's Amazon has lost about a fifth of its forest cover—almost 300,000 square miles. This includes at least 5,110 square miles lost in 2021. And European and NA leaders get bashed constantly by the media wtf are you talking about?
