Comments by "foil hat" (@foilhat1138) on "Sweden and Finland in NATO: a strategic defeat for Russia? | To The Point" video.
@bonnie7898 This is correct, though calling BRICS an alliance, even a loose one is giving it too much credit. It has no military, economic or trade agreements. No purpose or obligations, with members who's attitude towards each other ranges from indifference to hostility. Its not hard to join a club with no obligations.

@dirgsuite5546 spamming the same silly comment in every thread won't make it true.

@adamscott7492 Russia has lost thousands of tanks.
8
@Ballardian They said they had no interest in invading Ukraine either.
7
@Moliere1000 Get real. Every President since the start of the Cold War has been telling Europe they need to increase their military power.
5
@Mrac-zz8vh Nobody was putting any bases in Ukraine. Mexico has zero fear that the US will invade.

@JGrant60 Surely such an important agreement would be made in writing, not just hearsay on the Internet. Even Gorbachev said there was no agreement. "the question of "NATO expansion" was not discussed at all in those years and did not arise"
5
@SkyDiver-wd5oj Putin also offered Taliban-associated militants bounties on U.S. troops.

@artursbondars7789 You may be right and I may be naive. I still feel hesitant about tossing them out of the alliance until things have played out for longer though. I feel the same way about the Turks. Even though Erdogan is a wanna be autocrat I have hopes its a temporary deviation and they will return on their previous secular path. I may be wrong about that too though.

Russia has a nasty habit of trying to invade and annex their neighbors. Most recently this is happening in Ukraine (you may have heard) This is why they are joining NATO, because of Russia's aggressive expansionist tendencies.
3
More whining and idle nuclear threats?
3
Its weird to think Putin has any chance of even approaching Odessa.

@BladeRunner21577 Nobody is playing games when it comes to national defense. What a silly comment. Moreover NATO isn't forcing anyone to join, they ask to join, its not NATO that needs more members, countries see Russia's aggressive tendencies and want to join for their own benefit.
2
@BladeRunner21577 Yes, but Putin didn't want to ask to join he wanted to be asked. In his words he "Didn't want to be on a list with a bunch of countries that don't matter." But thats not how NATO works, countries petition to join and the alliance vote on it. There was no agreement regarding NATO expansion. If there was Russia would have insisted it be in writing, instead it exists only has hearsay. Even Gorbachev said as much. ""the question of "NATO expansion" was not discussed at all in those years and did not arise"

This might be true. I like to hope that Orban is just an anomaly and Hungary will become normal again in the future.
2
They tried that, Russia proved that notion to be foolish when they attacked neutral Ukraine.
2
@michaelwilson9921 It must be why Trump slurs his speech so much recently.
2
@JGrant60 Iraq is in charge of and sells its own oil.

Unless they've figured out teleportation there is no way for them to get there. Or do you think the few rag-tag forces that are there will be a threat to anyone?
