I would imagine its much like the Chechen war where officers wouldn't report their soldiers KIA and collect their pay for themselves. They would also take ammo meant for KIA's and sell it to the Chechen resistance. Welcome to Russia.

@masterlightjames950 Their idiotic attack on Kyiv seemed to indicate so. Russian officers even had reservations booked in Kyiv restaurants. Oh and a montage of Ukrainian tractors hauling of abandoned tanks.

@UkraineNeeds Russia killed around 2 million civilians in Afghanistan alone. The US around 45 thousand. So several orders of magnatude more in half the time. Well done Russia.
