@chrismalcomson7640 Um no, they seized illegal oil. Cops aren't 'stealing' drugs when they do a drug bust. Its just what happens when you commit illegal acts.

@chrismalcomson7640 That ship is leased by a Marshall Islands company, incorporated there, and operates in Greece. The US didn't rename it, or keep it. Empire, the company who operated it renamed it. It was still operated by them when Iran seized it. U.S. federal prosecutors filed a criminal case against Empire Navigation The US charged that in 2022, the Suez Rajan took on Iranian crude from another tanker, in violation of sanctions, and that shipping and financial records were falsified to conceal the origin of the oil and the fact that the seller was Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps. The EU and by extension Greece participate in the sanctions against Iran, it was a lawful seizure.

@chrismalcomson7640 Maybe but Iran would have their proxies taking pot shots at civilian ships anyways because they cant stand Saudi Arabia and Israel normalizing relations.
