lol her "friend" President Reagan? The same President Reagan that discussed supporting Argentina win the Falklands War? Your words are cute - but the United States is no friend of Great Britain.

Look up Alexander Haig's early attempts in that war to give American suport to Argentina, not Britain. Haig and Reagan seriously discussed making that a reality. And Israel, with the full knowledge of America, sold advanced military equipment to Argentina at the height of the war.
2
The USA, through Haig, wanted to give the impression they were supporting Britain while doing the exact reverse and camouflaging support for Argentina with the end result of the Falkland Islands being under Argentinian authority. Right down to the CIA giving Argentina details of where we were landing on the islands.

The US government threatened to tell Argentina where British troops were planning to land (South Georgia.) and camouflage that passing-of-information as "a peace-keeping measure". That's the equivalent of Brits passing on to the Vietnamese where American troops were planning to land in the Vietnam war. It's an outrage even as a consideration.

The Monroe doctrine can't be applied to territory already owned by European countries under international law.
1
And the Monroe Doctrine was aimed at ensuring the USA remained isolationist. You can't "remain isolationist" while making secret diplomatic manoeuvres to ensure your supposed greatest-ally gets defeated in a war.

Anyway, my whole point here isn't who could've, would've, should've won, it's simply showing that the USA - and especially Alexander Haig - had inexcusable actions that put Britain's forces in danger and openly discussed the benefits of ensuring British forces were defeated. That may be "a great ally" in your book, it isn't in any British veterans of that war.

Again, you seem to be missing the point I'm making. A nation that claims to be your "strongest ally" doesn't debate whether or not to support that ally's enemy in a war. It certainly shouldn't be considering giving that enemy information about Brits planned landing on South Georgia. If Haig had succeeded in getting that wish, it would have cost British forces our lives.
