I'm sorry but Fox News are totally correct here. I should know, I live in Birmingham. If I want to go and buy Fish and Chips now, I am ordered to wear a Burqa by the local Muslim "Acceptable Dressing Committee" or face having my hands chopped off. I must also bow to Allah whenever I enter the bread aisle of Tesco. Muslims have even put a sign "this is a no-go-zone" on the public lavatory. Nobody goes.

I'm a Brit and I love Sweden, it's a beautiful country. And honestly, Americans have seriously got to stop with these painful "omg! Islam has taken over Europe!!" stories your press keeps giving you. Look at Steve Emerson, an American terrorism expert. He went on American news and told viewers that Birmingham, England was now a "no-go zone for non-Muslims". The BBC interviewed him later and the interviewer literally laughed in his face at his story. Mr Emerson apologised and admitted the story was completely invented out of "sloppy research". The British Prime minister even called Mr Emerson "an absolute idiot". Muslims have been in Britain peacefully for centuries, they didn't all just arrive last Thursday wearing suicide belts and aching to go bang.

MCVE You referred to Christopher Hitchens as "a twit". What's your next move, referring to Mike Tyson as "a feminist"?
7
Did you know that the USA is now the only English-speaking country that doesn't make the top ten nations for freedoms? It's 20th. Today's powers in America have transformed the meaning of "freedom" into "freedom to financially screw whoever you can".
5
MCVE By all means disapprove of his politics, his sexuality, or what he says. But Hitchens was no "twit" and you know he wasn't.
5
Juanito G Since the year 2000, Israel has killed sixteen-times as many Palestinian children as the other way around. Sixteen-times as many. Your get-out-of-jail-free card of using the term "antisemitic" has become as impotent as your comment.
5
@thebeast2746 Reagan and Haig also discussed aiding Argentina win the Falklands War. They discussed giving Argentina secret British intentions of the invasion of Goose Green. The next time you see an Exocet missile hitting H.M.S. Sheffield, remember to thank Alexander Haig.
4
@garymorgan3314 Loved him or hated him - Christopher Hitchens was a highly intelligent man.
4
@ahok123 Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Please post yours that Hitchens was "paid well to advertise the wars by the west"
4
@TheDickPuller Galloway exposes the behaviour of Israel to a Western world whose news is literally owned, run and broadcast by Israel supporters. I can see why you might be afraid of him.
4
Walter De wit Since September 29, 2000 there have been 134 Israeli children killed by Palestinians. And 2,167 Palestinian children killed by Israelis.
4
Juanito G Of course they're not Hamas responsibility, that's a cheap get-out-of-jail-free card used by Israel and its supporters to try and excuse killing sixteen-times as many children as the people you oppose.
4
Exactly. The NHS is constantly voted "Most Loved Aspect of British Society" by Brits themselves. I think in the US, there's almost a pride thing with their politicians - they'd prefer not to relent and admit "Yeah. The Brits do it better".
3
Edgehead, I don't disagree with everything you say - and you express your beliefs lucidly - but you are only shooting yourself in both feet by claiming Adolf Hitler was a left-wing socialist. No matter how many times you type it, or tell yourself it's true, it's mind-numbingly self-defeating. You won't stop typing it but you should.
3
Religion is Fascism from the sky.
3
@jonathanswires1264 Well, let's test that. Fascism is dictatorial power, the complete suppression of all opposition and exists as a one-party power. Your religion is dictatorial power, the complete suppression of all other religions and exists as a one-god power. Am I wrong, if so, where?
3
@jonathanswires1264 You dismissed 2,999 gods because they weren't popular in your nation of origin. You opted for the 1 remaining god because he WAS popular in your nation of origin. You are obviously an intelligent man. Yet here you are, shelving all common sense, and believing in a talking donkey because you read about it in a book from the shelf marked "religion".
3
@jonathanswires1264 Grow up, Jonathan. Men don't really walk on water. Donkeys don't really talk. Snakes and bushes can't really have conversations. If a friend called you tonight and said "I've just had a chat with a donkey" would you reply "Hallelujah, Jesus is back!" or "Go home, Dave, you're drunk" Reality will always win over illusion. Religion will make grown men believe donkeys can talk. It's preposterously juvenile nonsense and you KNOW it is.
3
@jonathanswires1264 No, my morals aren't taken from your religion, sir. There's a reason Einstein called the Bible "Primitive legend" - it's because it's well-intentioned but preposterously juvenile fairytale from a time when new Messiahs were appearing every fifteen minutes. Grow up, man. Donkeys don't really talk.
3
@jonathanswires1264 You don't know that Balaam's donkey talked in the Bible?
3
@jonathanswires1264 Numbers 22:28
3
@jonathanswires1264 There have been - at least - three thousand gods throughout history. All of them are invisible today. There have been many, many different religions. You dismissed every one of those religions without even reading any of their holy books. Yet you put your entire life's belief into the one remaining religion that, by suspicious coincidence, was the most-popular religion in your nation of origin. Men don't really walk on water, Jonathan. Donkeys and bushes don't really have chats with humans. Thor's mighty hammer isn't really what causes thunder. Zeus didn't really give birth to his own offspring after eating the girl's Mother. Ganesh didn't really have multiple arms and the head of an elephant. If these preposterously juvenile claims didn't have the word "religion" attached to them, you'd dismiss them in a nanosecond. But here you are - presumably a grown man - shelving all mature thinking and openly telling the world you believe in a talking donkey because it's written in your holy book.
3
Juanito G "Morally equivalent." You just said "so what?" to the fact Israel has killed over two thousand children in 18 years. And you're claiming a higher-morality by saying "so what?".
3
Juanito G "Israel does not aim to kill children." Israel has a long - and frankly disgusting - history of using Palestinian children, including tying Palestinian kids to their tanks, forcing 9 year old Palestinian children to open suspect packages, sending handcuffed 7 year olds into houses while IDF soldiers crouched behind them resting their rifles on the childs shoulders, according to Israeli defense officials, the Israel Defense Forces made use of the "human shield" procedure on 1,200 separate occasions. You may want to study the Geneva Convention a little deeper.

I think the thing with Americans is they are taught to believe their own hype and it's "anti-American" not to. If a TV show asked 10 random Americans "Which is the most free country in the world?" practically every American would answer "the USA". In reality, the United States is the 20th most-free country in the world, and the only major English-speaking nation that doesn't make the top ten.
2
I think generally, Americans aren't very well versed in other countries or in the culture of other countries. Most Americans never leave the USA their entire lives, so their experience in the world - and their knowledge of it - is always going to have an American slant to it. There's a video on YouTube called "Americans are NOT stupid" and it does sum up how little Americans know about the world outside their borders.
2
@nogthedervish ok, you just typed 5000 more words and none of them contained any hard-evidence at all. Don't make assertions without evidence.
2
@nogthedervish In all those words you've typed, I still haven't seen a shred of evidence to back up the claim "Hitchens was "paid well to advertise the wars by the west"" which was the original request. This is what worries me about any political or religious claims, they're rarely told to pause to substantiate themselves via cold hard evidence.
2
@jonathanswires1264 If you want to believe that bushes, snakes and donkeys are all capable of chatting to human beings, you fill your boots, my friend. It's your right in a free world to believe anything you wish to believe.
2
@jonathanswires1264 And you clearly don't realise that THIS is what you're defending. Then the Lord opened the donkey’s mouth, and it said to Balaam, “What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?” Balaam answered the donkey, “You have made a fool of me! If only I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now.” The donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your own donkey, which you have always ridden, to this day? Have I been in the habit of doing this to you?” “No,” he said. Good luck with your religion. I'm as unlikely to share it as you are to abandon it. Enjoy the video, bye.

They're obviously not from Mexico but we have plenty of illegal aliens in the UK
2
Juanito G Israel's record of using children as human-shields is every bit as bad as the Palestinians. Both sides are as bad as each other.
2
Juanito G What an absolutely dumb argument. Let's forget murder, rape, manslaughter and all the other crimes, after all, a Grandmother just got hit by a bus. Get real for goodness sake.
2
Juanito G Not all child deaths in the conflict are from "human shields". Look, you'd make excuses for Israel killing 16 times as many children until the excuses fit your morality. You really ought to be doing things the other way around. Then maybe your morality would be higher than saying "so what?." Let's agree to disagree, have a great day.
2
Juanito G Indeed. In the 2008-2009 Gaza War, Operation "Cast Lead", a 9 year old girl was tied to the front of an Israeli tank to deter attacks from Palestinians. Her 13 year old brother was made to walk in front of IDF soldiers. Amnesty International called the acts "war crimes" by the Israeli Defence Force. Israel Defense Forces themselves filed indictments against two staff sergeants of the Givati Brigade for forcing a 9-year-old Palestinian boy to work for them at rifle point, instructing him to open a number of bags they thought might contain explosives. The IDF's internal investigation happened only after the incidents were discovered by the United Nations. Both Israeli Staff Sergeants were found guilty.
2
Juanito G You're new to the Israel-Palestine conflict, aren't you? A United Nations human rights body accused Israeli forces in June 2013 of "continuous use of Palestinian children as human shields and informants", voicing with deep concern 14 such cases had been reported between January 2010 and March 2013. It says almost all accused soldiers involved in the incidents have gone unpunished
2
Juanito G The Euro-Mid Observer for Human Rights published testimony that, during the 2014 Gaza War, Israeli soldiers used Palestinian children as shield in Khuza'a. A family, that also gave a video interview, recorded by Media Town, told the group that Israeli soldiers had killed the family's patriarch, a 65-year-old who was carrying a white flag, and proceeded to place family members, including children as young as four, by the house's windows and shoot from behind them. A UN official said that Israel used a school in Gaza as a military base which resulted in the death of eleven Palestinian children aged between 8 and 14.
2
Juanito G Go back to typing "Yes but people get killed in road accidents, so what?", this subject is way out of your intellectual depth. I'll leave you to enjoy the video, Juanito G, have a great day.
2
Juanito G lol just admit you got proven wrong and now you're desperately backtracking because you were proven wrong. Look, you don't sound very intelligent with all due respect, and even if you witnessed the IDF using children with your own eyes, you'd make an excuse for it, so let's just move on, have a great day.
2
Juanito G lol I knew you weren't very intelligent but oh my goodness me, get an adult to read my post out to you. The Israeli Defence Force probably isn't anti-Israel, you moron. Their own internal inquiry found the two IDF Staff Sergeants guilty. I'll let you get back to your colouring books now before you reply and say "lol, the Israeli Defence Forze iz anti-smeitcic didntt ya now?"
2
Juanito G I just realised that you're possibly only a kid yourself, if you are, I suggest you read into the atrocities of both sides, not just the side that suits your belief system best. And that really is my last word, I hope you enjoy the video.
2
@MPlatt No, it's not a "common misconception" it's a fact. Go look up the story of Enkidu and Shamhat, two characters from the ancient Mesopotamian poem "Epic of Gilgamesh" (written hundreds of years before the Bible). The Bible just copied the story and renamed the characters to Adam and Eve.
1
@Joe And if you right-wingers saw a long haired man promoting peace and love and telling you to sell what you own and give to the poor, you'd deport him on sight.
1
Juanito G When the police were called to the fight at the donut-store, do you think they just broke up the fight?
1
@nogthedervish Post something a little more definite than that, won't you. With respect, there's a lot of claim and very little evidence in that post.
1
@nogthedervish I dispute the claim "he was just paid well to advertise the wars by the west." because so far no hard evidence has been placed to back up that claim. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
1
@jonathanswires1264 You're typing empty arguments and defeating yourself as you do it. You brought up the subject of slavery and claimed atheists couldn't say it was wrong, yet the Bible is filled with stories of slavery, often PROMOTING slavery to its readers. Slavery is wrong. Therefore the Bible is wrong. Let's not make any more excuses and say "Yes, but when the Bible promotes slavery, it's doing it in a non-theological way and really means the opposite of what it's saying, and atheists can't grasp that" the way you made excuses for talking donkeys. Slavery is very, very wrong. The Bible is equally wrong in telling its readers its perfectly fine.
1
@jonathanswires1264 "And you seriously think that we as human beings are just random products of evolution with no purpose?" Did I say that's what I think? No, I didn't. If you want to know what I think, ASK me, don't TELL me.

@garymorgan3314 Viva Palestine, with love from England.
