MackAttack 27 That's very true. I think there's a certain guilt attached to being patriotic now in Britain. If I see someone with a Union Jack in their window, my first thought is EDL or National Front, which is a shame. We should take the flag back off those people.

Sam Y Isn't it a shame though, we should all be flying it proudly, not just the extremist elements

TheLordSod That doesn't make sense, of course you can be patriotic without being racist
10
TheLordSod lol oh I understand perfectly well how wrong you are. You're confusing two entirely different concepts.
8
TheLordSod You can type 800 words more if you like, it was still a stupid thing to say. Of course you can be patriotic without being racist. They're two entirely different things. As others have said, you're confusing two different subjects. You can reply and type another 800 words if you like. It's still a stupid thing to say.
5
TheLordSod lol 800 words of just nothing. Not a single word you just typed addressed anything, it was just childish "you don't understand you are stupid". You said, quote: "There is no patriotism without racism, by definition." Patriotism has nothing, zero, nada. Not a single thing to do with "race". At least admit you were wrong instead of "you are stupid you don't get it, you're stupid, you have no brain". It was an incorrect assertion, no matter how much backtracking or insulting you type.
5
TheLordSod Good idea. Next time, don't type things like "There is no patriotism without racism, by definition." because people are just going to point out how stupid it is. Oh. It's a good idea to stop clicking thumbs-up on your own comments, too. Bye.
5
TheLordSod Again, everyone is stupid. Except you, the person that typed the stupid thing in the first place. Next time, do the world a huge favour and don't stupid comments in the first place. Even your "admittance" actually said "Perhaps I ought to have said "racism/xenophobia""
4
TheLordSod It's not pedantry, you made a silly assertion and you seem unable to say "ok, I admit I was wrong". But you were.
2
He doesn't mean "more intelligent", he means "better dressed".
2
Dion7 Ricky's from Reading, Dion7. Trust me, when he says "smarter", he means "better dressed".

Nobody NEEDS to do anything, that isn't the point.

I think you're absolutely right but I'm not sure Americans themselves are as religious as their leaders think they are. I honestly think most Americans just say they're religious to pollsters because it gets them to go away more quickly.

+Peanut Butter Knife Fight That isn't Britain's fault, that YOUR fault. Your comment here is the problem, not the solution, look how negative you are being. Why do you NEED someone to tell you that you can be what you want to be? Motivate yourself into that position instead. Here's a test for you. Walk up to a friend in Britain today and say "tell me about Liverpool". I absolutely guarantee that they will list off predictable negatives and cheap insults instead of describing what an incredible city that is. It isn't British ancestors that are at fault - they were proud, positive leaders that loved Britain. Today's generation is negative, and self-loathing. And it has to change. Next time someone talks about Great Britain, get some pride and positivity in it and be the solution instead of the problem.
1
Peanut Butter Knife Fight I'm sorry for being direct but I've never read such utter drivel in my entire life. No, it really isn't Britain's fault. If you need someone to tell you how to be better than you are instead of getting off your rear-end and doing it yourself, that's your fault and absolutely nobody else's. Don't blame Britain for it. Blame you.
1
Peanut Butter Knife Fight Good to know you haven't lost your ability to type drivel.
1
Peanut Butter Knife Fight You are actually claiming that it's Britain's fault you feel you can't better yourself. I mean, that ought to be a self-defeating belief.
1
Peanut Butter Knife Fight Here's what you typed, word for word. We are all products of our environment, and pressures from pre-existing and external influences. If they didn't exist, their would be no limit to our aspirations. So actually, it is "Britain's fault." You're blaming your country because your aspirations have limits. If your aspirations have limits, that isn't Great Britain's fault. That's your fault. I'll say that again. That isn't Great Britain's fault. That's your fault.

lol there hasn't been a class system in England for half a century, man.

@L_Martin You're British yet you spell "humour" as "humor"? Hmmmm.
1
You're no Brit. You never were.
1
@SunofYork I'll let you get back to singing God Bless America, I'm going back to the Brits. Enjoy YouTube, bye.

I'm from Northern England, too, and I was taught to work hard and be optimistic. I certainly was never told I couldn't be Prime Minister. I think Ricky here was pandering a little to his American paymasters.

You really should stick to the "musical farting" videos in your channel, you don't know what you're talking about.
