Although I completely agree with all of the cities in Spain and Italy as well being crushed by over tourism, it’s the only way their governments generate enough GDP and tax revenue to provide for all of their very excessive government benefits, goverment jobs, socialized healthcare ect If the money stops coming in from tourism, they will have to make significant cuts in social services
