  1. Americans choose to be financially illiterate. Takes a few hours to read a basic book on money management. also it’s the Government’s fault for forcing and guaranteeing banks to give these loans . Most Gen Z and millennials take out insane loans to get degrees that have no benefit and do nothing to prepare them for an actual job or career that will enable them to repay the loans. Have a friend’s son who went to a major university - tuition 65k a year. Got a history degree shocked that he can’t get a job other than restaurants, retail ect. And is living at home at 27.
