I get as a teacher, he never taught a class on the formation of the country and why the forefathers that created the constitution and electoral college were so successful, how to bring together colonies with very different views and population into a functioning republic of state’s balancing states rights and federalism. If he did, then he would understand that if not for an electoral college Candidates for president would simply have to campaign in the 5-6 most populous states and those states would dominate control over the many other smaller and less populated states.
