At the expense of their entire economy They are in a population death spiral which Putin has significantly accelerated They have utterly destroyed the ones they have taken so they will be an economic drain for decades They have woken up NATO which has expanded and will be increasing defense spending for a couple of decades . Russia has gutted its entire military and equipment planes, helicopters,tanks, BMPs artillery, ships ect. Russia long term has committed state suicide
