Since 2018, the Employment Insurance (EI) tax has risen by $191 for employees and $267 for employers. As a result, the total federal payroll taxes (including CPP and EI) will be $5,104 for workers earning $73,200 or more in 2024, while employers will be responsible for $5,5241. These changes reflect adjustments to EI taxes and CPP (payroll taxes).
