@AnotherRoof it is not the lack of group theory education, but the actual SYMMETRIES that require slower presentation. even if you have the background you need time to rotate the stuff in your head in order to follow your argument.

@AnotherRoof just make a vid about M24! how it is made. how important it is. how it is related to pre-existing "regular" objects. how "regularly" it is built.... and then we will appreciate the catastrophe of it ending up being sporadic.

after watching all the videos, i am impressed by the framing, meaning the video frame not a single insignificant detail in the frame. colours, fonts, bricks, balls, ropes -- everything conveys information, nothing is randomely ordered

i am amazed how it is framed in the video sense. there are no insignificant details in the frame

watching films is for weak minds

here is another 2-corner arg. if we unfold a path onto your infinite plain of screens, each corner-hit along this path always belongs to two adjacent screens. you can not hit a corner that is not a hit of a mirror image of a second corner.

i think the M24 deserves the video of its own, describing how it fits and how it fails to fit our classification. only after we grasp the power of the classification, we can appreciate the weirdness of the exceptions.

"can u choose a number " is a wrong modality, which is highly confusing in this context. the real relation between the "number choice" and the affected group should be re-explained. you could say for example: "what if we NAIL one of the arrows, say the yellow arrow, and it should remain in place thruout the group" u c! i misinterpreted the notion of "transitivness", it only started to clarify for me on steiner systems. maybe it is the word "restrictions"... because your "number choice" is opposite of restriction: you require to FREE the position of the chosen number.

it is funny, to learn that a screensaver i am seeing first time in my life is a cultural meme already of a distant past.

is Oxford running out of applications????

man! i have an obscure math game for you, you will dig a/f!

now i am frustrated that i can not share links in comments. there is a programming lang that does exactly that (axiomatic data-types)

you accidentally proven that it cannot hit all 4 corners

there is one emotional point: we are talking about a subgroup that has a property that is perfectly natural for the supergroup. so what?! why are we talking ? have i misheard something? it must be highlighted that for a subgroup it is rather "expected to lose" this property. and this is why we focus on subgroups that keep it.

Matt Parker is neck deep in the meaningless Ramanujanism

it tells us something about the quality of the "olimpiad" problems.

imagine. every "math teacher" i hae met IRL fails to understand that SAT-scores are NOT numbers. and those people are official math teachers! (whole departments are calculating "average scores" in SAT and many other scoring systems tat use decimal digits!)

i subbed for the props

u r perfect. you address the most sensitive aspects of the topic. your language (visual encoding) is rich and powerful and puts the most important to the most visible places.
