  3. "We modern Westerners" - there it is. Not modern humans - is this going to be like yesterday's offering, that we view history through the lens of racism? No sensible person thinks that the mythos and logos of the modern world is the only (or right) way of viewing reality? His post modernist education has shut his mind to fundamentals of the human experience, which are universal.

  8.  @KootFloris  Ah, you made an assumption there. By evolution I meant the free market economics of nature, which never goes away, only the illusion that it has. It is as true today as then. I live in 2021, so by default I know about propaganda, but I have also read many books on the history and methods of persuasion.

  10. I'm proud of my child as well, not because of speaking up against other children, but for rejecting the hard left propaganda espoused by the entire teaching staff. Wokists have no mercy - with a child, you correct behaviours that you don't like, "don't do that, it's bullying", but the woke cast judgement from on high in terms of nouns. Racist, sexist etc (you've heard them all daily). Forgivness is not in their toolkit - cancelling people is. That is why no one is willing to speak out. My kid is polite, thoughtful, considerate and kind. The teaching staff react to this individuality of thought with bullying and appeals to authority. This is not education, it's tyranny, and it is the same in every country and every institution that has adopted the pseudo intellectual Critical Theory.

  25.  @defenderofwisdom  Obviously objective reality does not exist, it is our nervous systems interpretation bia electical signals of the world around us. It is reliable though, which strongly suggets ( including evolutionary reasons) that it has always been so. I refute post modernism, it is a cancer that has pervaded all avenues of our lives. If you cut me, do I not bleed? It takes a peverse logic not to empathise with others, whose experience of pain must be analogous to our own. It's very very dicey territory to forget this.

  26.  @defenderofwisdom  Apart from in an A Priori sense, I guess we won't know, even if A.I. can tells us about its experiences. But many of humanities greatest scientific insights came from utter bafflement at the data, for years and years. Quantum mechanics would never have been dreamed up out of imagination alone. Harrison's clocks were imagined, examined, built and refined using empiricism, logic and an understanding of the data. Maybe the depths of reality are subjective, but they are so reliable that we might as well treat them as true. The device s we are typing on are based on principles that are to some extent an enigma, but they still work.
