Once you have developed the Olympic stoicism required to navigate the institutional racism of the modern world, understanding that only complete capitulation is acceptable, life becomes merely tawdry rather than unendurable.. A stoicism that is far beyond those that lash out at any imagined slight. A stoicism made all the harder for having to endure endless lectures about systemic privilege.
