NZ's lockdowns have not involved curfews because they haven't been Necessary. Never had enough idiots in one place at one time, so the police etc. Were able to manage without them. Still, the other restrictions are such that no one really bothered going out after sunset at the higher alert levels, as there was simply no reason to. Everything was closed and you couldn't really interact with anyone you didn't live with anyway.

@ITTechHead then consider that NZ's system does have a level 4 as well, which is/was quite a bit more restrictive. (There's a pretty big jump between level 2 and level 3 though.)

@ozzie1246 bonus points: the only party trying to derive any benefit from the situation in New Zealand is National, our centre-right party (advocating for delaying the election, among other things). If this affects Labour's chances in the election at all it would be Negatively.

Parcels take longer to get to NZ than the virus can survive on them, generally. (There are exceptions, of course). The outside of them is also usually easy to disinfect, and the inside just a matter of leaving them in the garage for a few days before opening.
