  1. Nah, the NZ government's message on the matter's been pretty consistent: the global economy sucks and NZ's economy's taken/taking a hit (recession? Sure, probably accurate), but it's also taking much Less of a hit than expected, and much less of one than elsewhere, and by all evidence most of it should bounce back uncommonly well and quickly. So... Both are seemingly true.
