  1. ​ @UmarHamza one: that cost is largely some weird issue that seemingly only applies in English speaking countries. It's actually a problem with how they are planned and funded, not the technology. Even more, they're actually Substantially cheaper than the amount of road infrastructure needed to move the same number of people the same distance. Difference is entirely that wasteful road spending is considered "normal".
