To be fair, most of the words sited in the video were words borrowed from German directly centuries after the two languages split.

@HotelPapa100 to be fair, the "creole" was Anglo-Saxon/old English (not sure which at that point) and old Norse, from different branches of the Germanic language family (though English had picked up a few celtic bits by then too). It still marks a third person singular subject on the verbs because that was marked the same way in both languages (all the Other combinations previously marked there were different enough to be a pain to remember for the large wave of adult colonists being assimilated into the population and ended up being dropped to reduce confusion). The end result was just the English of the day with some of the grammar filed off and different vocabulary on a regional dialect by regional dialect basis (which happens on its own anyway) which got evened out in waves of standardization (many not entirely deliberate) over the course of centuries, rather than the creation of a new language.
