My grandfather was an NRA member for many years, but it was about 5 years ago he didn’t renew his membership because he said all they seemed to care about people subscribing to their magazines and didn’t seem to have much emphasis on protecting the second amendment at that point. That told me a lot about them and I never joined them to begin with, though I did go to gun shows with him when I was a kid and this was back when the NRA still seemed to mean something. Looks like they’re now an origination that mostly cares about the money, while paying lip service to those who want to ensure the second amendment is protected when they have to.
