  1. The being born on American soil, thus granting one citizenship, was meant for slaves once slavery was over, such as the children being born here while their parents were born out of the country. Their parents were also granted citizenship if they chose to stay here, most of whom did, so they got to be American citizens. Unfortunately, when that was put in place, it wasn’t at all written to be for slaves only, which was the point of the automatic citizen of the USA if born on American soil as back then everyone knew what that meant. But due to time going on and that not being clarified to applying to only slaves, people from other countries have exploited this by coming here with their wives or girlfriends pregnant, have their child born in one of the states and therefore their child is American and so you can’t deport the child, they’re not from where the parents were originally from, so the whole born on American soil and given automatic citizenship needs to be changed as it’s been exploited for so many years. When it comes to one parent being American and they have a child with someone not American, there’s no issue with the child staying or living here without any sort of visa or green card since they are American from birth, potential dual citizen as one parent wouldn’t be from America, but the child would be American nonetheless.
