There was a really long extensive list posted by Community Notes on Twitter of people giving interviews telling friends and family to get vaccinated as they died. It's a long list of sources.

If you are working 6-7 days a week you don't have time to read the news and decode the sanewashing. A living wage would have prevented the rise of Trumpism or at least enabled more people to vote. Voter suppression and racial gerrymandering for had a huge impact on folks ability to vote. If your voting booth is shut down and is an hour by car and you have no car then you don't get to vote.   37. Great podcast! Tim, you mentioned Kamala Harris' accent in Atlanta, this is called "code switching" . It has been written about since the 1950s. I studied it when I did a course in linguistics at university. Perhaps increase your social and cultural capital by engaging with bilingual folks. It's really common. As a teacher I taught students who were bilingual. They were all familiar with the concept.

This means that they don't know who Murdoch is and what he owns or his influence. Nutrition plays a part as well. 60% of Americans can't get $500 together for an emergency. If you are working 2 or 3 jobs and can't pay rent and buy food for your children, your nutrition suffers which affects the learning development of your children.

  41. Tim is awesome in so many ways. Tim doesn't seem to understand basic pregnancy biology 101. 1 in 4 pregnancies end in spontaneous abortion. Before Roe vs Wade these women often died. 64,000 pregnancies resulting from rapes occurred in states which ban abortions. Tim does not seem to understand that 85%of rapes go unreported. Women just want to get reproductive health care and move on. Women do not want to parent their rapist's child. So Tim is brilliant in so many ways but he does not understand nor has he sat with a sobbing pregnant woman, who, at 7 months, has no fetal heart beat and needs an abortion before sepsis sets in and she dies. Tim could look into the realities of why so many people died before Roe vs Wade. He could speak to some mothers.

  44. Black maternal deaths were the highest in the OECD before Roe vs Wade was overturned. White maternal deaths have risen 95 per cent in Texas since the abortion bans came in. What this means for Black women we can not know but it is not good. A lot of people don't understand the biology of pregnancies. They do not understand the women are dying from miscarriages, stillbirths, ectopic pregnancies, sepsis and a dead foetus. It did not break through. It was a missed campaign ad opportunity.

  47. This is a really important insight. If we build on this understanding then we will be able to engage and work together. They are terribly vulnerable to Trump's amygdala hijacks of fight, flight, freeze or fawn. Biologically your pre frontal cortex closes down. It means that you can not think. A sad reality is that 60% of Americans are reading and writing at a 6th Grade level level meaning they never developed from concrete thinking to abstract thinking. They have not been taught critical thinking.
