You are right critical thinking and media literacy needs to be taught. 60% of Americans are reading and writing at a 6th Grade level this means that they haven't progressed from concrete to abstract thinking and don't know who Murdoch is or what he owns. This is a reason it's a close race. A lack of critical literacy skills has had a huge impact. There is a lack of a living wage which means that 66.2% of Americans are living pay check to pay check and are working 2 or 3 jobs and can't pay rent and buy food for their children is the reason the race is close. The lack of time to read the news is having a huge impact on the understanding what is going on. The media sanewashing, poverty, illiteracy, Intergenerational Trauma and neoliberalism where Democrats and Republicans conspired to use "Poverty as a Policy Choice" and the reasons why it's a close race and what is needed is enough money to pay rent and buy food for their children. On top of that critical literacy and media literacy are desparately needed.
